A Local Void and the Accelerating Universe

چکیده

Corresponding to the recent observational claims that we are in a local void (an underdense region) on scales of 200 − 300 Mpc, the magnitude-redshift relation in a cosmological model with a local void is investigated. It is already evident that the accelerating behavior of high-z supernovae can be explained in this model, because the local void plays a role similar to the positive cosmological constant. In this paper the dependence of the behavior on the gaps of cosmological parameters in the inner (low-density) region and the outer (highdensity) region, the radius of the local void, and the clumpiness parameter is studied and its implication is discussed.

Dipole anisotropies of IRAS galaxies and the contribution of a large-scale local void

Recent observations of dipole anisotropies show that the velocity of the Local Group (vG) induced by the clustering of IRAS galaxies has an amplitude and direction similar to those of the velocity of Cosmic Microwave Background dipole anisotropy (vCMB), but the difference |vG −vCMB| is still ∼ 170 km/s, which is about 28% of |vCMB|. Here we consider the possibility that the origin of this diffe...

Inhomogeneous universe models have been proposed as an alternative explanation for the apparent acceleration of the cosmic expansion that does not require dark energy. In the simplest class of inhomogeneous models, we live within a large, spherically symmetric void. Several studies have shown that such a model can be made consistent with many observations, in particular the redshift–luminosity ...

امواج گرانشی حرارتی در فاز شتاب‌دار کیهان

Gravitational waves are considered in thermal vacuum state. The amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves are found enhanced in thermal vacuum state compared to its zero temperature counterpart. Therefore, the allowed amount of enhancement depends on the upper bound of WMAP-5 and WMAP-7 for the amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves. The enhancement of ...

Outer Boundary of the Expanding Cosmos: Discrete Fields and Implications for the Holographic Principle

A physical interpretation of the holographic principle is derived, using a specific non-local hidden-variable theory called the Cordus conjecture. We start by developing an explanation for the vacuum, and differentiate this from the void into which the universe expands. In this theory the vacuum comprises a fabric of discrete field elements generated by matter particules. The outside void into ...

We consider a cosmology in which a spherically symmetric large scale inhomogeneous enhancement or a void are described by an inhomogeneous metric and Einstein’s gravitational equations. For a flat matter dominated universe the inhomogeneous equations lead to luminosity distance and Hubble constant formulas that depend on the location of the observer. For a general inhomogeneous solution, it is ...
